Dutch Ambassador praises reforms of the KRG’s ninth cabinet

Barzani thanked the Netherlands for its support to the Kurdistan Region’s private and public sectors and for implementing a number of important projects in the food industry.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Michel Rentenaar, the Dutch Ambassador to Iraq, praised the reforms the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) ninth cabinet has been making during a meeting with Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday. 

Ambassador Rentenaar praised the reforms in the Ministry of Peshmerga in particular. He also expressed his country’s readiness to further develop its ties with the Netherlands, especially in the investment sector.

In the meeting, also attended by the Netherland’s Consul General to Erbil, Hans Akerboom, the prime minister and Ambassador Rentenaar discussed the political process in Iraq and the ongoing government formation in Baghdad. 

Barzani thanked the Netherlands for its support to the Kurdistan Region’s private and public sectors and for implementing a number of important projects in the food industry. 

They also discussed the migrant crisis in Europe. Rentenaar described the KRG procedures to prevent illegal migration as positive and effective.
